Professional Experience
Klir
Senior UI/UX Designer
May 2021–August 2022 | Remote Position
- Created new UX and UI standards for the Klir application, used by water and sewer utility companies to manage water processes. Oversee the implementation of these standards by development teams and work closely with Product Owners, Product Managers, Front-end Developers, and Quality Assurance teams.
- Conduct frequent discovery and usability sessions with registered users of the Klir platform. This output was then compiled into detailed reports with accompanying mockups. This information is then used to drive decisions around application development in future Quarters and team sprints.
- Build out detailed, interactive mockups and prototype designs with Figma and/or Adobe XD. These are often complex, large mockups created to show functionality across an entire ‘module’ of the application.
- Creation and maintenance of a component library housing all application components, design language, UI and UX rules & standards, as well as various component options and features.
- Driving the creation of user personas and journey maps primarily to help define steps needed for QA testing and Customer Success teams, as well as describe Klir users for the Sales Team.
Quadax
Lead UI/UX Designer
January 2019–March 2021 | Middleburg Heights, Ohio / Remote Hybrid
- Responsible for the creation and implementation of UI and UX standards at Quadax, a medical billing company with roughly 1,000 employees. Designed and built out the Quadax style system in Adobe XD; Built out the functional component library using Storybook.js.
- Set the design framework and standardizations for the Quadax RCO department, a new arm of the company driving the future of all Quadax products.
- Conduct user testing and design reviews with internal users who use the Quadax applications. Design reviews are typically up to 40 pages and compile the results of user testing, statements made, etc. Make recommendations and provide wireframes.
- Work closely with management, product managers, and business analysts to understand product goals and user needs, and work within the budget or parameters of any given sprint.
- Work hand-in-hand with the development teams throughout Quadax. Provide detailed wireframes and interactive mockups;
- Built out HTML/CSS/JS frontend components in Bootstrap, Material UI or React for dev teams to utilize. Took on the role of front-end development expert for many of the teams at Quadax.
