The SCOUT Project was an iOS app prototype developed at Lumen Technologies as a potential add-on service for Quantum Fiber customers. Designed as a home security companion, the app allowed users to control smart devices such as cameras and smart plugs — the latter of which could detect motion through Wi-Fi signal disturbances.
Below are a sample of the screens I designed and prototyped for the MVP.
You can explore the full Figma file via the embed at the bottom of this section.

Onboarding
The Scout onboarding flow guided new users through initial setup and device pairing. These screens walk through how to add smart plugs, security cameras, and other supported hardware.

Settings
The app’s MVP included a broad range of settings — from default preferences and global device routines to scheduling and security behavior. These screens show how we organized those features for ease of use and quick access.

Device Enablement
Users could toggle devices on or off either from the main dashboard or via the activity overview. These screens demonstrate how we provided clear, redundant control points across the interface.

Device Details
Each device had its own dedicated detail screen, where users could rename devices, arm or pause their status, and review activity logs or real-time updates.
